If you listened to my show today you may have heard me talking about the Dekalb County School transportation issues.

You may not have heard about this before or you may have seen it on the news. 

The children have performed to their best abilities in order to attend magnets schools and were told they would have transportation.  For many parents this is the only transportation for their children to get to school.  Now in the middle of the school year, before the holidays they are taking away the buses that pick the children up from their home.  At least if we had the summer to deal with this it would have been easier.

I don't believe this is legal; but if the parents do not have the money to pay for lawyers it won't matter.  Surely there are other ways to cut budget than affecting childrens transportation to a school that could make a difference in the rest of their lives. 

There have been four meetings so far, at least 30 parents spoke and provided alternate solutions that were not implemented.
