...consider this your 12 Step Recovery Program if you are; and if you aren't no need to be offended.
There are people who need help, that don't even know it...for basic things like getting a decent job, treating their family members with love instead of hatred, racism, integrity and other blatently obvious things that to some seem like common human desency.
Again if the shoe doesn't fit, take it off. But on the other hand if you have been accused of being a porch monkey, you must look deep within yourself and be willing to change.
The President Elect needs help changing this country. How will he do it without a mass of leaders who are willing to step up to the plate and take responsibility for themselves, their families, communities and any random person they have the opportunity to influence.
If you don't like the term, oh well. It was the most appropriate and least offensive thing we could come up with to convey this sindrome.
Unfortunately for this definition I was not satisfied with my trusty Wikipedia resource so I had to go to the urban dictionary. Here is what it says:
| 1. | porch monkey | |
|
A person who sits on the porch and watches the neighbors.
A small child that enjoys being on the porch. And what can I get for you, little porch monkey? Oh its okay, I'm taking it back.

A derogatory for a person of african or african american decent. BUT it could also mean a generally lazy person. This term came to be when you think of african americans sitting on there porch chatting it up. Also in the movie Clerks II, the sequal to Clerks, Randal tries to reclaim it as a new term for lazy people. And thus offends several customers and his boss.

Randal: Im taking it back |

Well Randal, we are giving it back to you. And thank you to the directors of Clerks II for clarifying the term.
